December 2007 Archives

All the gifts have been wrapped and placed under the tree

And Back to Nature version of Oreo cookies have been left for Santa

11:49 PM Christmas Eve. Phew. I made it.

Natalie and I had a heart to heart.

Nat:     Mama we don’t have a chimney. (I think she meant fireplace.)

She pauses.

Nat:     We have a chimney all the way at the top.

Mama:     Yes, we do.

Nat:    Santa is still coming through the living room window?

Mama:     I am going to open the window before I go to bed. He’s going to squeeze in.

Nat:    Because he’s fat!

Mama:    Yes, from eating all the little kid’s cookies when he visits them.

Mama: He comes in and eats a cookie from every house. Each child leaves one cookie for Santa and he eats all of them and drinks the milk after he leaves the Christmas gifts to the good little girls and boys so you have to be good.

Mama: You get the job of picking the cookies you will leave for Santa.

Nat:     Oreos

Mama:    Oreos?! (There goes my dream of baking holiday cookies in the oven with Natalie.)

Mama: Why Oreos?!

Nat:    Because it’s “Milk’s Favorite Cookie

What Mama Wanted to Say: Moth—f—– (Note to self: Next year, be more careful how many advertising slogans Nat is able to absorb. She’s clearly a smartie.)

Nat:     And hot cocoa.

Nat:     With marshmallows.

Papa:    Hot cocoa doesn’t go with an Oreo.

Mama:    Yes it does. It can also be made with milk.

In the spirit of the holiday season and to be a little greener I suspect, the team at 360 PR produced a special video edition of their annual holiday greeting entitled “The Office – 360PR Style.”

The video runs just two minutes, doesn’t require you to download or sign up and through December 27th, 360 PR is making a donation for every view to The Home for Little Wanderers
and The Women’s Lunch Place, two organizations making a difference during the holidays and all year long.

And then get some of your friends to view it too. It’s cute.

And hearing Laura speak was too funny for words. (And we all know how much I love to talk….)
