Natalie leaves today to spend the remainder of her Christmas vacation at my Grandmother’s house.
Six days without her.
Of course she’s in capable hands (that was never a question!) but it always feels so odd when she spends more than a night or two away because I never consider spending that much time away even to travel for work.
So six days is pretty major.
I know even bringing this up will cause me to hear from a few parents wishing they had someone nearby who could give them a break once in a while. I know. I know.
But I still feel weird. I just do.
Its six days without making Shirley Temples, running errands, playing the Ladybug Game, having her show me her favorite yoga postures – “This one’s the hardest, mama.”
I think Luke misses her too when she’s gone for a few days and we both look like mopey mopes around the house.
It’s not like the boys and I will have nothing to do while Nat’s away.
We’ll play.
And well, I’ll clean the apartment.
Oh yea, and work.
If all else fails, when Luke and Harrison go to bed, I can always resort to enjoy some reality television – or not.
