Giveaway – Win a Nintendo Wii and Games

It’s President’s Day.

I’m observing the holiday by working on my laptop at home while watching Oobi with Luke.

Nintendo Wii more of an activity you would enjoy with your kid?
Well then - lucky you.

I have a brand spanking new Nintendo Wii and several games in my sample closet.

And I’m giving it away.

nintendo wii
Completely FREE. No strings attached.

I never give away anything on this here blog, No Minivan, Just Moxie

(just through the contest section of my Savvy Mommy website)

It’s about time I start letting my mommy blog readers win prizes. Fabulous prizes.

It’s an effort to bring out the lurkers, who read my blog and then email me funny comments instead of posting them.

(Come on, the world agrees with you. Don’t be shy. Post that snarky retort!)

If you want the Nintendo Wii for you, your friends or even to give away to someone else,

you’ll have to post a comment within in the next 24 hours.

Answer this question as a comment below:“When you were growing up, what was your favorite video game to play?”

My question assumes you were born during a certain time. I know. Sorry.

Want to know my answer?I sucked at Nintendo Super Mario Bros.

It wasn’t until 1989 when Revenge of the Gator (a pinball game) was released for Game Boy that I won anything besides Pac Man.

And now for the important information - the rules for my *No Minivan Just Moxie* Nintendo Wii contest

  • Post a comment stating your favorite video game to play growing up. Explain what it was about if it wasn’t a well known game.

(And if you remember – say if you played it on Atari or Nintendo, etc.)

  • Make sure to include your blog name if you have one or your email address so I know who won.

Check back for the winner, chosen tomorrow, February 19th after 9AM EST.

I’ll post more blog contests in the future.

New York Giants Win Super Bowl

I understand it has been 16 years since the Giants won a Super Bowl.

So it’s a wonderful win and not just for the crazy lunatics across the courtyard who went wild outside my window after the Giants won.

I’m happy a New York team won.

And the parade on Tuesday should be nice for us downtown office workers.

But for me, those super bowl commercials were not worth spending the $2.7 million for 30 seconds of airtime.

Sure the Bridgestone Squirrel commercial and the Pepsi – Justin Timberlake collaboration were cute.

Andy Samberg as Britney Spears?!

(Watch it here - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6dprQVQ3wOU)

But the Naomi Campbell Thriller commercial was predictable.

It was as if two ad execs sat in a room and the senior ad exec said “Hey, what works?”

The junior ad exec replied “hot girls and reptiles doing funny things”

Senior exec’s witty response – “Get me Naomi Campbell and dancing lizards. We’ve got our Sobe Life Water commercial”

Here’s what those Sobe ad execs found to be genius - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anLqu77uTH0

I didn’t hate all the commercials.

I did like the Coke commercial (Go Charlie Brown!) and the Victoria’s Secret ad (But I think guys will need another reminder!)

And at least that weird Planter’s Cashew commercial was a little unexpected.

Watch them all here - http://www.youtube.com/adblitz

Afterwards, you will probably be happy to not have to see another Budweiser, CareerBuilder or FedEx commercial for a while.

Or if you want to celebrate some more – The Regency hotel on 61st and Park have a party until Tuesday’s parade.

Either way, congratulations to the Giants!
