Well, it had nothing to do with Wolfgang Puck, but I let my 4yr old son “try out” a small bicycle in the store. He jumped on it and took off - flying through isles, scaring people, laughing - it was like a scene from a movie. I finally found him in produce.

So bummed…I don’t have any funny supermarket experiences with the kids. (My husband won’t let us go do the weekly grocery shopping with him!)

Most of the “funny” grocery shopping stories I have are only giggle-worthy in hindsight. One time my kid thought it would be hilarious to ask, “Dada?” to every male in sight- maybe she thought making it look like she didn’t know who her father was would result in some gummi worms thrown her way.
This was particularly bad because I look a lot younger than I am. People probably though the poor girl was trying to find a father figure after her mom had a Lifetime Original Movie moment.

Funniest grocery shopping story? Oh my, there’s SO many to chose from! Okay, here’s one that comes to mind right away:
I have terrible seasonal allergies. I wear contact lenses. Put those two facts together and you can imagine how mucky and dried-out my eyes can get.
Especially, at the end of the day.
I was grocery shopping with my 4 kids - because, I am also a major DORK! - and was nearly done, when my right eye started bugging-out around the end of the meat aisle.
I kept blinking like a bleeping beacon.
“I’m sorry…ma’am…but, I’m married.”
[eyes go wide]
“Excuse me?”
Because, I’m also very slow on the uptake.
“Jeez, Mom…you were totally winking at him!”
UGH.
“NO, my contacts are bugging me!”
Riiiight.
Yes, my 12-year-old told her Dad and, well, I’m NOT allowed to go food shopping, anymore.
Did I mention I’m a total DORK?
[shrugs shoulders]
Dumb, not so much ;o)
