August 2008 Archives

Saturday morning didn’t work out like planned – do weekends ever?! — but when we met up with friends downtown the kids had fun in the park and the moms had Shake Shack. An afternoon spent well!

The line at Shake Shack was long. And I mean really long even for a Shake Shack line.

But I was on a mission for a ‘Shroom burger (which became a ‘shroom burger, fries and Arnold Palmer because of the wait.)

Kids were happy playing in the dust as we waited on the line.

Then the girls shared a bikini and ran through the sprinklers.

After spotting a bubble machine vendor in Madison Square Park everyone wanted bubbles. The vendor sold out fast.

Pretty amazing bubbles to go with a pretty amazing Saturday afternoon.

On the last day of summer camp Miss Nat said to me –

“Don’t worry mama, next year I’ll go back and do more activities.”

Here I was thinking this morning before her bus came to pick her up that she’d be sad.

But she was fine.

While eating toast this morning, she also told me she had so much fun yesterday.

I really think sending her to camp for eight weeks summer was a smart decision.

I was a bit concerned in the beginning but she really had a great time.

Yea!

I caught myself singing along to one of the Miley Cyrus’ songs playing on the car radio last week.

Thankfully my daughter was in the car so it wasn’t just me singing along to See You Again.

That ever happen to you? Come on, you can admit it.

Post a comment below talking about a time you sang along to one of your kids songs (whether or not your child was present for your performance) and you could win 1 of 2 Hannah Montana Miley Cyrus Best of Both Worlds DVD featuring Jonas Brothers.

This giveaway just might bring back memories of that time you sang into your hairbrush in front of the mirror.

Natalie’s camp session is over this Friday.

Sending her to summer day camp in Long Island for eight weeks was a wise decision.

Remember your summer camp experiences?

I sure do. Some were great. Others … not so much.

If you watched the Disney original movie Camp Rock featuring the Jonas Brothers and Demi Lovato you already know that Mitchie wants to rock but can’t go to exclusive Camp Rock because her mom doesn’t have the cash. Luckily, her mom gets a job at Camp Rock as the cook and Mitchie goes as her apprentice who gets to take part in camp activities.

Haven’t seen it? It’s a cute movie I watched the first time it aired on ABC. And I feel it’s definitely something worth telling a camp memory about for a free copy.

What’s that?

Post a comment below including a summer camp memory of your own and you could win 1 of 2 Camp Rock DVDs with the Jonas Brothers.
