The new super spectacular shoes bought for her first day of Kindergarten may have been a tad too big.

But a quick wardrobe change to a pair of shoes she wore last school year did the trick.

And then we were off… to sit in traffic… for minutes… minutes past the time we were to be there.

But no worries… because the gates were still closed 10 minutes after we arrived.

Parents crowded around. Waiting.

Taking photos.

Then walking.

Walked into the cafeteria and she lost her voice.

Shy. Yes, Natalie. Didn’t even say her name.

Shy when she went into her classroom and had to choose a table to sit at and color.

I left her to get to know everyone before I had to be asked to leave.

Like the parent who came with a professional photographer. Or the videographer.

Didn’t forget my boys also had a good first day. New shoes. Trip to the park. What else could they want?

School’s officially back in session for everyone.

I see a lot of organizing in my future because my schedule has gotten pretty busy. And that’s before the play date requests come in.
