On Friday, we had lunch at The Inn at Cedar Falls in Hocking Hills, Ohio.
My friend Vera visited Logan, Ohio on a press trip a few years ago so it was fun for me to get a chance to check out somewhere she visited — especially in this part of the state close to where my guy grew up.
I ordered the turkey club with Applewood smoked bacon and potato salad from the seasonal menu. I hadn’t had potato salad in over a decade and figured it would be nice to taste it again. This potato salad had the red skin from the potatoes in it.
The turkey club had a pineapple chutney on it. It gave the sandwich a nice but not overpowering sweetness. It would be nice to see how the the sandwich tastes as a roasted turkey club instead of a pressed turkey club.
Before my turkey club arrived, a ramekin of Italian potato stew arrived so I could taste it. It was hearty, full of potatoes and I would enjoy a bowl of it for lunch on a Winter afternoon.
My dessert will look familiar if you read about Vera‘s stay at The Inn at Cedar Falls. The mixed berry cobbler and vanilla bean ice cream is made on site and was the perfect way to end the meal.
My MIL had the spinach salad and my guy had the sun dried tomato burger.
The restaurant at The Inn at Cedar Falls is inside two log cabins from the 1840s. Although there is an outdoor seating area as well, I like dining in the log cabin. It’s casual and relaxing — exactly the atmosphere you want during lunch.
I look forward to going back to The Inn at Cedar Falls for dinner. If you are ever in the area, stop by for a meal.
