We were invited to brunch at David Burke Kitchen at The James on Saturday so we hopped on the 6 train and headed downtown.
It was our first time visiting the restaurant. I’ve dined at David Burke Townhouse, Fishtail by David Burke and Burke in the Box (a few times) so I was familiar with Chef David Burke.
I initially planned to have pancakes from the wallet conscious Pancake Social menu but decided to stick to the Brunch menu my family was following and order salmon.
Miss Nat had the Waffle Grand Slam. Before it arrived, she had fun testing out the jams on her popover.
HP and LP both had stuffed French Toast.
I ordered the parfait for my youngest. While he’s usually a big fan of Greek yogurt with honey and fruit, he wasn’t interested in the granola in it so I ended up eating it. It’s so hard to be me.
The Mister had Angry Mussels and the Kitchen Burger with Jalapeno Fries.
After brunch we went upstairs to the Treehouse Bar and Garden for pumpkin creating, hot cider and hot cocoa.
The professional pumpkin carvers showed off their skills and my kidlets tried their hand at decorating their own Halloween pumpkin. My youngest chose this time to walk among the pumpkins and try to lift each one.
When it was time to go home, we left with some pumpkin inspired goodies!
Thanks for the invite, Chef!
