I can’t believe my guy is still trying to get me to use this photo on our Christmas card.

Hilton Head June 28, 2010

I think the fact not one of the kids are looking at the camera, my dress is sliding down and my guy looks like someone walked by and pinched his butt just before the picture was taken, this would probably not be the best photo to send to family as our Christmas card photo this year.

(Photo taken June 28, 2010 after my birthday lunch in Hilton Head)

I had no idea it would be such beautiful day today in Central Park.

We headed over to The Plaza for our Family Photo Day courtesy of Shutterfly. 150 families took part in half hour shoots with various awarding photographers (including Thaddeus Harden and Jade Albert).

Managed to take some behind the scenes shots with Sean’s iPhone before we stepped in and joined the kidlets in the family photo shoot.

Shutterfly will be sending us the photos in a few weeks and they have offered to print our holiday cards this year.

I don’t know if any of the pictures taken today will be on our Christmas card (have you ever tried to get three children to look at a photographer at the same time!?!?) but I’m looking forward to seeing photos from the shoot.

My Uncle Patrick died earlier this morning from liver cancer.

I chose to not say goodbye to him when I had the chance.

And yes we were close.

But I don’t do well with death and my mom told me he didn’t look the same.

So I decided to let my last time around him be a happy one.

I didn’t visit him at the hospital after we were told he probably only had the weekend to live.

And sure enough, it’s Monday and he’s gone.

The funeral will be sometime this week.

Since Miss Nat was around him many times, I will bring her.

Strange thought – buying a black dress for a little girl to wear to a funeral.

Even stranger thought – burying your son. I can’t even imagine how my grandmother is feeling right now.

I just want this week to be over and it’s only just begun.

Next stop – Taking the kidlets to Long Island today to spend the day with their Grandma Jenny. Great Neck here we come.
