My Uncle Patrick died earlier this morning from liver cancer.
I chose to not say goodbye to him when I had the chance.
And yes we were close.
But I don’t do well with death and my mom told me he didn’t look the same.
So I decided to let my last time around him be a happy one.
I didn’t visit him at the hospital after we were told he probably only had the weekend to live.
And sure enough, it’s Monday and he’s gone.
The funeral will be sometime this week.
Since Miss Nat was around him many times, I will bring her.
Strange thought – buying a black dress for a little girl to wear to a funeral.
Even stranger thought – burying your son. I can’t even imagine how my grandmother is feeling right now.
I just want this week to be over and it’s only just begun.
