Pinky Toes

The worst part about being sick is feeling sick.

Looking sick is pretty bad too but sometimes that can be a godsend as it makes smart people watch out when nearby. They’ll keep their bullshit from you a few days longer than they were planning. Before they share it and screw up your day.

The problem with me is that when I am sick I can hide it well with HD makeup. But once the make up is all off I look exactly how I feel. I looked like a girl who needs to be in bed. So I did exactly that until this morning.

Determined to come back with a vengeance and make up for lost time, I decided to enlist professional help to make myself look human again. The plan was to stop in to a nearby salon for a manicure pedicure eyebrow wax and then another place for a blow out. I meant business. I meant to forget every bed bound minute I spent shivering and sneezing and running a fever.

Ah.. the best laid plans…

Just when I’m all on my way to making a comeback from a week of being down and out sick and kicked while I’m down ( hella fun laptop issues) I get a text.

A one word sentence.

Pedicure?

From someone that always says Lunch? I got nervous and I said yes immediately.

My waxing and nail painting plans will have to be done differently.

Cancelled appointments and I was on my way for a pedicure with my Maid of Honor. Across the street from her job. Which yes is the scene of the crime.

The Writings on the Wall

A few weeks ago I went into Natalie’s room and saw crayon drawings on the wall by her bed.

Cleaned it off and then asked told reminded her we only write on paper and not the walls in our house.

Or any other walls – lest I unknowingly am raising a budding graffiti artist in my home.

This morning I went in her room after she left for school.

The crayon was back on the wall but this time I noticed something different.

The writing was now math problems. Simple ones like 6+6 =

And the answers were right. I know it shouldn’t have but that really made me smile.

Awwww, my little girl is a promising mathematician.

Think this time it may be my fault since the printer paper she usually takes off my home office desk was no longer there. No excuse, but still.

I’m picking up some paper just for her to write on this afternoon and will give it to her to her this evening when I remind her again to not write on the walls.

Everyone will be watching those Joisey girls. I can’t wait! Tomorrow I have meetings, meetings, meetings galore before I head out of town again for the rest of the week. Ha! What else is new?!

Should I Stay or Should I BlogHer

If I go there will be trouble

And if I stay it will be double.

Since January, I’ve been asked by publicists and other bloggers if I am going to BlogHer 09.

Figured I would just let everyone know what’s going on.

And not because I think anyone besides my mother reads this blog because I’m sure I’ll be asked dozens more times before July.

Right before BlogHer 09 sold out, I registered this little blog, Veep Veep for the conference.

So just in case I wanted to attend I could.

Instead of just saying NO and then regretting my decision come July.

As of right now, I am a step closer to going to BlogHer than I was last year at this time.

But I haven’t bought airline tickets to Chicago or reserved a room at the Sheraton yet.

I saw the CheeseburgHer party information sent out over Twitter the other day and I’d love to witness it.

I mean, I’ve never been to a party that most likely will get shut down 30 minutes after it starts.

And I’ve already said 2009 would undoubtedly be full of firsts for me.

(Trust me, three months in.. it has been… many times over. LOL)

The reason I would go to BlogHer is because it will be nice to meet all the amazing bloggers who email and exchange tweets with me every day.

And with all the conferences out there every month, I thought it would be nice to go to once started by three cool chickies.

There are unfortunately two things that has me hesitant about attending this year.

  1. High school hasn’t ended for a lot of people. There is always some blogger drama being talked about on Twitter. I’m more of the person who stays away from the craziness than one who tries to be a part of the cool clique.

  2. Many people are going to BlogHer because they are being sponsored by a brand. Am I going to walk up to someone and say Hi only to hear a conversation about X brand since she has to talk about the people who paid her way to the conference? Or is that the norm and I be looking for a BlogHer sponsor? I mean besides the radical idea of just having my own company sponsor my trip.

Sadly, after all those thoughts, I have no final answer about BlogHer.

I’m still undecided.

Are you going to BlogHer 2009? Still deciding?

Leave me a comment so I can either say Hi to you when I’m there. Or read about your experience on your blog when you get back from Chicago.
