McDonalds Nutrition Network Launch

Harrison and I went to my least favorite part of town yesterday.

But we ventured there for a good reason, the McDonald’s Times Square location was hosting the launch of the McDonald’s Nutritional Network.

Jim Lewis, the owner operator of the Times Square location, (an owner since 1993!) spoke for a few minutes about McDonald’s. I had never been inside the McDonald’s in Times Square before but it is massive. Several floors and hidden corners where more seating is available. Unreal and very Times Square.

Registered Dietician Tanya Zuckerbrot walked us through the substitutions you can request from menu items (fries without sodium, anyone?), calories for each of the sample menu items and her tips on moderation when it comes to any food.

Breakfast - 460 calories

Lunch - 510 calories

Dinner - 550 calories

Snack - 480 calories

At the end of the event, Harrison and I left to pick up his brother and sister from school but not before discussing with one of the agency reps his thoughts on Happy Meal Toys.

Disclosure: Samples of the McDonald’s menu were provided to McDonald’s New York Metro Nutrition Network event attendees. The Motherhood provided compensation as well. All opinions are my own. And it is Harrison’s opinion that the green Happy Meal Transformers toy is better than all the other colors.
