Back to School Made Easy with BabbleBoxx

September 18, 2018 by Victoria

Having four children in four different schools means my days and nights are filled with thoughts of planning for the next day and writing lists in organizers. It also means taking some shortcuts to make sure our household runs smoothly during the week now that school is back in session.

Grocery shopping after picking up my two youngest children after school no longer happens without groans. It’s understandable that after a full day of learning, they aren’t keen to stand on long checkout lines at the supermarket after also walking the aisles looking for items on my shopping list.

That’s why I was happy to try SHIPT – a convenient same-day shopping app. You pay a $99 annual membership fee (only $49 with code VEEPVEEP) and you choose a one hour window for grocery delivery from Target, Fairway or Morton Williams to be picked out for you and delivered. (And if your order is over $35, there is no delivery fee!)

The lines at our neighborhood Fairway are known to be pretty long so my younger sons were happy to hear they didn’t have to go to the supermarket to pick up things for the first day of school. Just between us, I’m going to miss my 11-year-old’s determined face when he carried a heavy bag of his favorite seltzer home from Fairway.

Snacks are big in our home. Two of my kids’ schools require parents to send in a daily snack. It’s fair to say that for my youngest son, missing snack time is right up there with having to go a day without playing Fortnite. Thankfully, MadeGood snacks are organic, gluten-free and non-GMO project verified.

Their granola bars, granola minis, crispy squares, and soft baked cookies are produced in a facility free of the eight common allergens – peanuts, tree nuts, wheat, dairy, egg, soy, sesame, fish, and shellfish. They are definitely an allergy free, school safe snack to share in the classroom. And it passes the most important test — my youngest son likes how they taste!

A variety pack of Pre Brands grass fed beef was a welcome sight for my meat loving children. The easiest way to make lunches for my children (who like to skip school provided lunch) is to pack leftovers they’ll enjoy.

According to my kiddos, the Chuck Roast beef shoulder would be for shredded beef, 85% Lean Ground beef for tacos, 95% Lean Ground Beef for hamburgers, New York Strip steak for lunch wraps and a steak for burritos or steak and eggs — which is my 11 year old’s favorite meal to start the day.

All Pre Brands beef is grass fed, sourced from nutrient-rich pastures and raised with care, with no added antibiotics and no added hormones. Want to buy grass fed beef online? Use code BTS (expires 9/21) at EatPre.com for 40% off lean ground beef.

Growing up in a household where rice was pretty much on the dinner table every night means I passed my love for it down to my four children.

Lundberg Family Farms gluten-free rice is already a staple in our home so seeing organic Rice Pilaf and Quinoa Blend Rosemary and Olive Oil rice mixes received a welcome reception. And since these mixes are easy to prepare and cook in 20 minutes or less, I became a big fan of these non-GMO, vegan sides, too.
